Remus Bulmer's professional interests center on environmental science, marine conservation, shark fisheries, STEM education and science communication. Throughout his career, he has combined scientific expertise with educational outreach to promote environmental literacy and public engagement with science. His work focuses on making scientific knowledge accessible through teaching, outreach, and community-based learning opportunities that connect individuals with environmental issues and conservation practices.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Bulmer is actively involved in community engagement efforts that support science education and environmental stewardship. He provides educational programming and outreach opportunities for underserved communities, mentors and tutors youth and participates in initiatives designed to increase access to STEM learning experiences. These activities reflect his commitment to making science relevant, engaging and accessible to learners of all backgrounds.

Bulmer also supports conservation efforts as a volunteer diver, contributing to coral reef monitoring and management projects in partnership with nonprofit organizations. Additionally, he has participated in community-based research initiatives through collaborations with Minorities in Shark Sciences (MISS).
